Custom Jewelry

Creating a piece of custom jewelry with Shuler's master designer is an exciting experience! Bring us your old jewelry, loose gems, or just an idea you have in your head.

Our designer will create a beautiful scale drawing for your approval. Next, your design is carved in fine detail from a solid block of wax. A mold is made from the wax model and then cast in precious metal. Gems are then set into the piece for the finishing touch.

The most exciting moment is when you see your finished creation and it is more beautiful than you ever imagined! From a simple romantic thought emerges your creation. In addition to your new heirloom, you also have a wonderful story that will become part of its history.

Shuler’s Jewelers Announces First-Ever Creating Heirloom Contest Winner

Maria Bruno of Norristown Receives Complimentary Redesgin of Heirloom Ring

Custom Jewelry GraphicMaria Bruno’s smile says it all. The first-ever Shuler’s Jewelers Creative Heirloom Contest winner recently received her magnificently redesigned heirloom engagement ring and is ecstatic at how it turned out. “It’s even more beautiful than I anticipated!” exclaims Bruno. “The folks at Shuler’s Jewelers did an incredible job.”

The Norristown native was one of  many contest participants who provided Shuler’s Jewelers with a story about a treasured piece of jewelry and a compelling reason why it should be redesigned. Of all the stories submitted, Shuler’s deemed Bruno’s the most captivating. She was awarded with a complimentary redesign of her favorite piece of jewelry – an heirloom engagement ring.

Maria’s winning story is about her beloved Aunt Kay who passed away from cancer when Maria was only 19. Before Kay died, she had given Maria her engagement ring. For Kay, it was a very special piece of jewelry – a one carat pear shaped diamond ring with sapphires. Kay, who had no children of her own, was married to Clifford Payton, a retired colonel in the Air Force. Clifford died shortly before his wife’s passing.

Maria speaks fondly of her late aunt and conveyed her feelings poignantly in the story she wrote.  Howard Zenker, owner of Shuler’s Jewelers, says Bruno’s story stole the hearts of all Shuler’s employees. “Maria’s story really brought out the best in all of us,” he says. “We were determined to provide her with nothing but the finest possible redesign.”

Shuler’s team of designers, including talented goldsmith Gary Fisher, worked with Maria to create an enhanced redesign of the heirloom piece of jewelry. Shortly after a sketch of the ring was created, a wax mold was produced. Once the wax model was approved by Maria, it was cast in silver and gold and the stones were set.

“It is such a treasured piece of jewelry,” says Maria. “I am very grateful and want to thank Shuler’s Jewelers. It’s been a wonderful experience.”  Shuler’s will be announcing the details for its next Creative Heirloom Contest shortly. Stay tuned for details!
